Wagner Meters introduces new concrete moisture meter

Wagner Meters' C555 concrete moisture meter.

Rogue River, Ore.–Wagner Meters, a manufacturer of wood and concrete moisture measurement instrumentation, has released a handheld electronic concrete moisture meter for comparative measurement of concrete and other surfaces.

The C555 Concrete Moisture Meter is designed to be in full compliance with ASTM F2659 to assist in preliminary evaluation of the comparative moisture condition of concrete, gypsum and other floor slabs and screeds. The C555 also features an onboard ambient temperature and relative humidity sensor as well as a Relative Measurement mode for comparative measurement of other smooth surface materials such as brick or cement block. The C555 comes with an On-Demand Calibrator platform to perform fast and easy calibration to factory settings while in the field.

“The C555 provides a valuable, non-damaging surface scan capability that works in conjunction with the Rapid RH L6 system,” explained Jason Spangler, flooring division manager, Wagner Meters. “ASTM F2170 specifically outlines the number of sensors to be utilized for a given square footage but gives little guidance on where to place them within the project. With all of the variables associated with the concrete pour, the water-cement ratio and aggregate mix, the C555 really gives the user a better methodology for L6 sensor placement by detecting potentially troublesome moisture pockets where L6 sensors can be best utilized.”

The C555 features an abrasion-resistant Teflon sensor surface and a protective rubber boot for durability, as well as a 1-year warranty.

Wagner Meters launches Smart Logger

Rogue River, Ore.—Wagner Meters has launched Smart Logger, a new monitoring device that tracks and documents ambient temperature and relative humidity conditions discretely and constantly, even when installers are away from the job site.

How it works: The 2-inch square monitoring device sends data to the Smart Logger app, which Wagner Meters offers for free for both Appleand Androidsmart devices. The app connects to the Smart Logger device through a Bluetooth 4.0 connection. This enables installers to transmit and record ambient relative humidity and temperature data, and send the data reports via email, directly from the job site.

To use, the monitoring device must be installed on a wall, or other out-of-the-way location at the project site. Then the installer must set the desired parameters on the free Smart Logger app. The installer can then collect and store up to 12,000 readings of ambient temperature and relative humidity conditions over a time period of up to 300 days, depending on frequency of readings and strength of transmission sensor. When installers return to the job site one or more days later, they can use the app for fast, convenient data collection via Bluetooth. After downloading the data to a mobile device, the installer can quickly send a report to the general contractor or client.

The Smart Logger app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play. The Smart Logger device can be purchased online at wagnermeters.com/smartlogger.

Wagner Meters, Sitefotos partner to benefit flooring professionals

meterRogue River, Ore.—Wagner Meters and Sitefotos have partnered to enable the integration of Sitefotos’ photo documentation app with Wagner’s Rapid RH Bluetooth Smart Reader.

This partnership allows flooring contractors and other users of the Sitefotos app to read Rapid RH data via Bluetooth and automatically upload the readings to the user’s account in the cloud. The moisture readings, along with any photos, are tagged to the location and project. They are then time stamped and stored on the cloud for easy and quick retrieval by the project personnel.

Since 2005, the Rapid RH system has been providing flooring professionals with fast, accurate and reliable moisture testing of concrete floor slabs before installation of finished floor products. Now the cutting-edge technology of the Rapid RH can be paired with convenient, digital photo documentation at each jobsite.

“The idea for our partnership started when the developer of Sitefotos noticed many of his customers were taking photos of the digital readings from our Rapid RH Smart Sensors, which measure RH and temperature in concrete,” said Jason Spangler, Wagner Meters’ flooring division sales manager. “After he approached us about integrating his app with the Rapid RH, we soon saw how this could better serve not only our mutual customers, but future customers as well.”
