Viken, Sweden—Välinge Innovation will add further capacity for development and production of its powder-based flooring concepts. The new investment includes additional 4,000 square meters to the current R&D center as well as a new production line.
Välinge’s flooring concepts with the surface technologies Nadura and Woodura combine high impact and wear resistance with new design possibilities. The demand for these floors around the world has steadily increased. As a result, Välinge has decided to invest in additional production capacity.
The new production line is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2017 and will include equipment for wood surface treatment and also digital printing to maximize flexibility and facilitate development of new products.
“We want to help our present and potential customers introduce these exciting products to the market before eventually fully taking over the production themselves,” said Niclas Håkansson, Välinge’s CEO.
Viken, Sweden—The U.S. Patent and Trademark office (USPTO) recently issued U.S. patent no. 8,584,423 assigned to Välinge Innovation AB. The issued patent, claiming benefit of applications from 2001, projects a floor panel provided with connectors for mechanical joining and a resilient surface layer. Viken, Sweden—Välinge Innovation said that Chinese flooring producers Guangdong Huizhou Huidong Weikang Rubber and Plastic Products Co. and Eastern Pacific Rubber & Plastic Products (Shenzhen) Co. have signed a license agreement.

Mooresville, N.C.—Novalis Innovative Flooring has signed a license agreement with Välinge Innovation for its 5G resilient flooring technology.
The agreement is part of an already established arrangement signed in December of 2012, in which Novalis licensed fold down technologies for use on Novalis LVT products.

Viken, Sweden – Välinge Innovation and Taizhou Huali Plastic have extended their LVT partnership with a license for the use of Välinge’s patented technologies on fold down installation, including the 5G mechanical locking system. Additionally, with an indemnification on patents from Mannington Mills, Taizhou Huali Plastic is the first licensee on LVT that includes the 5G locking system.
“Our company have been cooperating with Välinge around locking systems since 2011 and we are convinced that this will be a way to further increase the demand for our products,” said Philip Yuan, general manager, Taizhou Huali. “With 3 mm flooring as well as the latest fold down installations, including Välinge’s 5G, our company shows that we are aiming to grow in the market.”
“Välinge’s new generation of 5G and fold down locking systems designed for LVT have proven to combine strength with very easy installation,” noted Per Nygren, executive vice president, Välinge. “After adding new technology to the Huali license agreement, the cooperation now covers a wide range of locking systems, including the indemnification from relevant IP holders in LVT like Välinge, Classen and Mannington. The upgrade with 5G and fold down in LVT is a trend we are convinced we will see more of in the future.”
