FCICA’s mid-year meeting a ‘huge success’

Florence, Ala.—The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) recently held its 2012 Mid-Year Meeting here at the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa. The event welcomed 75 attendees, including contractors and associates, for what was said to be “by far the most successful mid-year meeting in FCICA history,” according to the group’s executive vice president, Kim Oderkirk.

The four educational sessions were major draws for the event and included “Application of Self-Levelers” with Karen Bellinger of Schonox; “Welding Systems—Tools & Techniques,” a seminar by Brent Fike 
of Flexco; “The Risk of Excluding Initial Floor Maintenance,” led by Ed Farrington of Nora Systems and Gerry Swift, vice president, commercial division, Mike Flooring Companies, and “Is Your Concrete Concrete? – Avoiding Failures When the Floor Might Be Gypcrete, Fly Ash Concrete or a Lightweight Aggregate,” featuring Jeff Johnson of Mapei and Bruce Newbrough of Ardex.

Schönox expands distribution and technical resources

Florence, Ala – High Performance Subfloors (HPS) announced they have added two new strategic distribution partners. Commercial Flooring Distributors in Debary, Fla. and Hiline Unique Flooring in Minneapolis, Minn. are the latest distributors to join the Schönox product network that is growing steadily across North America. HPS is also making moves to support its growth with additions to its team of Subfloor Preparation Specialists.  Russell Wright has joined this important team to help customers better understand the benefits of the full range of Schönox products.  HPS has a rapid growth plan in place for distribution partners and technical assistance teams. HPS unveils new products and expands sales team

Florence, Ala. – High Performance Subfloors (HPS) announced that they are formally launching their new Roll and Go flooring adhesive product. Roll and Go allows the installer to apply the product from a standing position and begin flooring installation within fifteen minutes of application.  The company is expanding its sales team to market this and a full series of subfloor materials. Enos Farnsworth has joined the company as National Sales Director.  Farnsworth will be expanding the company’s distribution networks across North America and further developing strategies to inform customers of the company’s products. HPS has partnered with Schönox, a subsidiary of AkzoNobel, providing North America with an extensive line of next generation subflooring products.
