Dalton—Oriental Weavers announced a significant capital investment made in its U.S. manufacturing and warehousing facilities. The expansion, which occurred in late 2014, allowed for a 12% capacity increase at the company’s Dalton manufacturing facility and was due largely to the recent high demand for domestically-made products.
The company first invested in a brand-new, high-speed loom to put the expansion wheels in motion. The new loom was the first five-meter loom to be installed in the U.S. and is the fastest and most technologically advanced loom of its kind. Thirty-five percent faster than the industry standard, the new loom gives Oriental Weavers the exclusive ability to more efficiently produce American-made area rugs by significantly increasing production, reducing waste and eliminating excessive inventory all while maintaining the existing level of required energy.
Additionally, due to the company’s organic growth and the increased capacities that the new high-speed loom yields, Oriental Weavers is expanding its distribution center, located in Dalton. The nearly 200,000-square-foot expansion will accommodate the added production and will provide new opportunities for skilled workers living in the Northwest Georgia area.
“U.S. manufacturing is extremely important to Oriental Weavers,” explains Jonathan Witt, senior vice president of Oriental Weavers. “Thirty to thirty-five percent of our current total rug production is made right here in the U.S., with aggressive plans to increase domestic production an additional 20- 25% in 2015. Our overall commitment to U.S. manufacturing and our recent capacity expansion provides jobs for Americans and helps the American economy. Additionally, the technological advances and efficiencies of the new loom speak for themselves. The economy will benefit, our customers will benefit—it’s a true win-win for everyone.”
Dalton—Pantone, the world’s authority on color, announced today that the much anticipated Color of the Year 2015 is none other than Marsala 18-1438. Pantone’s team of colorists describes the selected shade as sensual, appealing, compelling and cordial. Consumers everywhere will be in immediate search for fashion, beauty and home interior products containing the color and because of that, Oriental Weavers has made the job of area rug retailers a little easier.
Oriental Weavers, the world’s largest rug manufacturer, and PANTONE UNIVERSE entered into a successful partnership in 2013. Due to Oriental Weavers’ exclusive product development relationship with Pantone, the company has been working with the PANTONE Color of the Year 2015 months in advance of today’s public announcement in order to incorporate the sought-after color into the company’s new designs, launching at Atlanta and Las Vegas rug markets in January.
“We are extremely proud of our new PANTONE UNIVERSE rugs featuring Marsala 18-1438, the new PANTONE Color of the Year 2015,” said Jonathan Witt, senior vice-president of Oriental Weavers. “After seeing the countless media stories Pantone received on the Marsala announcement, consumers across the country will flock to buy items incorporating the new Color of the Year 2015. This tremendously benefits our retailers because only they will be able to say they have the official PANTONE UNIVERSE area rugs featuring the new ‘it’ color for the New Year. Make sure to come see us in Atlanta and Las Vegas to see the gorgeous, new PANTONE Color of the Year 2015 areas rugs in person!”

In fact, we have introduced more than 20 new collections in this year alone,” said Jonathan Witt, senior vice president of Oriental Weavers. “We pride ourselves on our commitment to respond to and consistently service our customers’ needs.”
The company chose to remain in the centrally located IHFC building but is moving to the larger and better positioned G-276 showroom on the second floor of the building’s Green wing, adjacent to the Design Center.
