Nora systems, employees make second donation to St. Jude’s

nora systemsSalem, N.H.–Nora systems, a manufacturer of commercial floor coverings, and its employees recently made a second donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The $4,700 gift is the result of a matching gift program that invited employees to donate $1 every pay period to the hospital. Since starting the program in 2014, Nora employees and the company have donated nearly $8,000 to the pediatric treatment and research facility.

“This year, as was the case last year, Nora employees demonstrated their support for the work of this worthwhile hospital,” said Heidi Anderson, human resources manager at Nora. “I value their enthusiasm for the program and am thrilled to report that a majority of our employees again elected to participate in the voluntary contribution, which certainly speaks to the generosity of our employees.”

Nora employees made donations of $2,350 over a 12-month period in 2015, with the company making a matching gift of $2,350. The program will continue through 2016, challenging employees to again support the hospital and its lifesaving mission.

Nora Systems names Cole VP of marketing

In this new position, Cole will be responsible for marketing in North America; he will also be involved with technical operations as well as global responsibility for developing and implementing the company’s sustainability strategy.

Cole comes to Nora from Forbo Flooring Systems, where he held various management positions in sales, marketing and technical operations during his 25 years with the company. Most recently, he lived in Amsterdam and served as global head of sustainability and director of market segment strategy.

Cole will report to Andreas Mueller, president and CEO of Nora Systems, North America.

Cole is a member of ASTM International and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is past chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council board of directors.

FCICA, Ardex Americas, Nora Systems to offer scholarship in honor of Bruce Newbrough

Screen Shot 2015-04-01 at 4.56.09 PMWest Bloomfield, Mich.—The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA), Ardex Americas and Nora Systems have established the Bruce Newbrough Memorial Scholarship for the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) program in honor of Bruce Newbrough, former director of applications development at Ardex.

The scholarship has been developed to provide educational opportunities to floor covering installation managers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and excellence in proper substrate preparation and installation of floor covering.

“FCICA is honored, not only to have known and worked with Bruce Newbrough, but also to have this opportunity to work with both Ardex and Nora toward our common goal of a standard of excellence for installation managers in the Certified Installation Manager program,” said Gerry Swift, FCICA chairman.

Individuals interested in applying for the scholarship can visit www.fcica.com/training-program/bruce-newbrough-scholarship. Applications must be received by June 1. The scholarship will be awarded in July.

Nora Systems gets new minority shareholder

The company said it is investing in its Weinheim, Germany, location as well as in the Middle East and South America.

Mueller named managing director of nora systems GmbH

Salem, N.H.—Andreas Mueller, president and CEO of nora systems, Inc., North America, has been named a managing director of German-based nora systems GmbH, global market leader for rubber floor coverings and floor covering systems.

In his new position on nora’s board of directors, Mr. Mueller will provide leadership for the company along with Director Christa Hoffmann. Mr. Mueller’s responsibilities include sales, marketing and technical activities worldwide. In addition, he will retain his current leadership position with nora’s North American operations. New nora technical videos provide product tips

Salem, N.H.  – nora systems, manufacturer of commercial rubber flooring, has produced a collection of 14 new and updated technical videos which are now available on the company’s website. The videos provide useful tips for installing and maintaining nora flooring.

FCICA’s mid-year meeting a ‘huge success’

Florence, Ala.—The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) recently held its 2012 Mid-Year Meeting here at the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa. The event welcomed 75 attendees, including contractors and associates, for what was said to be “by far the most successful mid-year meeting in FCICA history,” according to the group’s executive vice president, Kim Oderkirk.

The four educational sessions were major draws for the event and included “Application of Self-Levelers” with Karen Bellinger of Schonox; “Welding Systems—Tools & Techniques,” a seminar by Brent Fike 
of Flexco; “The Risk of Excluding Initial Floor Maintenance,” led by Ed Farrington of Nora Systems and Gerry Swift, vice president, commercial division, Mike Flooring Companies, and “Is Your Concrete Concrete? – Avoiding Failures When the Floor Might Be Gypcrete, Fly Ash Concrete or a Lightweight Aggregate,” featuring Jeff Johnson of Mapei and Bruce Newbrough of Ardex.
