Couristan bolsters sales team

Fort Lee, N.J.—As Couristan prepares for an explosive 2018 and the launch of several new collections at Surfaces 2018, the company has hired two leading residential floor coverings sales executives to service the Manhattan and Southern California markets.

Troy Corey will ensure dealers in New York City will have access to Couristan’s residential broadloom and area rug collections, while Nick Maugeri will be responsible for the Southern California region. Both executives bring more than 30 years of experience forging relationships with specialty and high-end retailers and will report to Len Andolino, executive vice president of Couristan’s residential division.

“We are committed to developing the strongest salesforce to bring our collections to market,” Andolino said. “Both Troy and Nick have unbelievable track records in the high-end floor covering sector, and we look forward having them leverage their experience and deep relationships to expand Couristan’s reach within these two incredibly important markets.”

Prior to joining Couristan, Corey spearheaded sales at GCC International. His expertise spans on product development and manufacturing, and includes strong sales connections all over the United States. Prior to this, he served as national sales manager and buyer for his family business, Rosecore.

For nearly 20 of Maugeri’s 35-year career, he worked for his family business, Wool Merchants, which manufactured, imported and distributed high-end wool carpeting. During this time, Maugeri developed relationships with Southern California’s most prestigious retailers and distributors. In 2001, he left the family business to pursue a career as an independent agent of broadloom and area rugs.

Carlisle expands staff after soft surface division launch

The company has named Amy Warren director of sales for the new soft surface product line. Warren is an accomplished sales professional with a highly successful track record of boosting sales across multiple industries while delivering effective customer service. She was most recently account manager of trade sales for Stark Carpet Corporation-Interior Design Showroom in Chicago. Her background also includes working as brand ambassador for luxury brands at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Laura Kolar Todorov is now the showroom manager for Carlisle’s New York City showroom in the A & D Building. Todorov brings more than eight years of experience in luxury to her new post, including work for several divisions at Chanel.

Joining Todorov is Sarah Morgan, soft surface specialist. Morgan joins Carlisle after working with Ralph Lauren Home-To-The-Trade as senior sales professional. She also has experience with home brands Arthur Sanderson & Sons and Uproar Home.

Denise Kaiser is the new showroom manager for Carlisle’s Chicago showroom and has a strong residential home products and design marketplace background. Before Carlisle, she was program ambassador for the Chicago Design Summit and Design Chicago at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Kaiser also served as midwest manager for Traditional Home.

Bona US hires two new employees

BONA US LOGOAurora, Colo.—Bona US has hired Mike O’Neil as adhesive specialist, and Blake Reynolds as territory manager for Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Both joined Bona this fall to support the company’s growing business.

“As Bona continues to expand and grow, it’s critical we hire the best of the best for our team,” said Gregg Bethune, national sales manager, Bona US. “Blake and Mike are fantastic additions to our company. Bona is thrilled to have them on board.”

O’Neil will serve as Bona adhesive specialist in central and northern California as well as Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho and British Columbia, Canada. He brings a 30-year tenure in the hardwood flooring industry to Bona and holds a wide array of experience and skills working with distribution, contractors, builders, retailers, architects and designers.

As Bona territory manager for Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, Reynolds will work with new and existing sales and distribution relationships. Prior to joining Bona, Reynolds worked with a variety of flooring substrates and in customer training on application best practices, daily and interim maintenance procedures, machines and safety. Blake will also spearhead Bona’s Regional Training Center in Addison, Texas.

Joel Martin to head Engineered Floors’ western division; new manager hires

joel-martinDalton—Engineered Floors appointed floor covering executive Joel Martin to the newly created position of regional vice president, western division. With over 16 years of industry experience, Martin previously served as Engineered Floors’ central regional manager.

Martin’s appointment is a result of Engineered Floor’s continued sales growth and the addition of more sales personnel and regional management. Martin’s new responsibilities include overseeing company growth in Engineered Floors’ West Coast, Pacific Northwest, Central U.S., and Canada regions and utilizing the company’s new distribution center in Fullerton, Calif.

In addition, Engineered Floors has hired Brian Johnson as the new central regional manager, and Mark Korshavn as regional manager for the West Coast region. Johnson has been in the industry for over 20 years, most recently at Mohawk Industries. Prior to joining Engineered Floors, Korshavn worked with Shaw Industries for 25 years.
