NAFCD, NBMDA to host annual convention in Colorado

The highly anticipated convention will take place this week Nov. 14-16 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.

With 196 exhibitor booths and 47 first-time exhibitors the tabletop networking forum allows distributors and suppliers to connect face to face and conduct meaningful business planning. Semi-private tabletop booths provide an ideal forum for senior executives and key decision makers to discuss distribution plans and strategies for the future while also reviewing past performance. Meetings are coordinated by appointment to ensure a highly focused and productive environment.

NAFCD strengthens industry alliances

The tabletop networking forum brings together more than 900 distribution professionals representing the leading distribution companies in the U.S. and Canada, allowing distributors and manufacturers to connect face to face and conduct meaningful business planning. Semi-private tabletop booths provide an ideal forum for senior executives and key decision makers to discuss distribution plans and strategies for the future while also reviewing past performance. Meetings are coordinated by appointment to ensure a highly focused and productive environment.

“The joint event between the two organizations continues to be a solid foundation where members can rely on valuable education and insights while making meaningful business connections,” said Kevin Gammonley, NAFCD and NBMDA executive director.

In addition to strengthening partnerships, the event fosters networking and knowledge sharing between attendees. For 2017, the annual convention will host concurrent sessions on a variety of topics, including the latest technologies, political issues, the economy and sales trends.

The three-day convention will also be filled with value learning through general sessions, roundtable discussions and the 2017 Distribution Management University (DMU). New resources for members
NAFCD also announced plans to team up with Caliper, a New Jersey-based talent management firm that guides businesses in developing their work- force and aligning talent with strategy. Caliper is designed to make personnel decisions, from hiring to succession planning, more
seamless and precision-based for association members. NAFCD members will receive discounts on Caliper’s pre-employment assessment tools and other services that have been proven to help businesses become more agile and innovative, attract the best candidates and promote from within.

NAFCD, NBMDA provide reciprocal membership dues discounts

Chicago—The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) announced that as an added member benefit, all NAFCD members can now, for a limited time, receive a 50% discount on membership to the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA).

As part of the reciprocal agreement, NBMDA will be offering a 50% discount on NAFCD membership dues to all NBMDA members who join NAFCD. The new agreement is expected to grow membership for both organizations and further cements their long-time partnership designed to increase member value.

NBMDA is the trade association representing the leading wholesale distributors of surfacing materials, wood panels, cabinet hardware, wood finishes and related products. NAFCD and NBMDA have co-sponsored an annual convention each November for the past seven years.

For the sixth consecutive year the North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) brought together more than 700 distribution professionals throughout the leading floor covering, specialty building material, cabinetry and woodworking industries to network, engage, learn and grow their businesses.

During the three days in Orlando attendees gained insights on trends in the floor covering and building products supply chain; learned tips for employee recruitment and retention; discovered how to expand their innovation and strategic thinking; reviewed global economic forecasts; shared best practices with their peers; participated in manufacturer-hosted meetings and social activities; strengthened relationships with current trading partners; and built relationships with new partners.

2014 NAFCD + NBMDA Annual Convention a resounding success

Distributor attendees took advantage of many opportunities to build relationships and make strong business connections with hundreds of new and existing supplier partners. Attending distribution firms represented approximately 900 distribution center locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. One-on-one business meetings allowed attendees to form their operating and logistics plans, develop marketing plans, discuss current products and future offerings and cover the critical factors that establish and strengthen their partnerships.

In addition, the event’s educational sessions were highly rated and featured an impressive roster of thought leaders.
