Deerfield Beach, Fla.—Mapei Americas has opened a free online educational program for architects in the United States and Canada. The Architectural Educational Program enables architects to gain continuing education units that are recognized by their associations including American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC).
The program is easily accessible via the Architectural Solutions page of the Mapei Americas websites (mapei.us and mapei.ca). Once architects have entered the portal, they can select and view the online presentation that meets their interests. After completing the accompanying multiple-choice questions, the architect receives an email confirming completion of the course. In the United States, the required information is sent directly to the AIA while architects in Canada self-report their information to the AIBC.
“Mapei has developed an architectural support program that strives to develop a relationship with architects and designers through educational presentations that keep them up to date on the changes and new technology in the flooring industry,” said Mike Granatowski, national manager for architectural and commercial projects at Mapei.
Deerfield Beach, Fla.—Eric Edelmayer has joined Mapei Americas as the business development manager for sheet membranes. In his new role, Edelmayer will promote existing sheet membrane products and expand the company’s sale of sheet membranes into new areas.
Edelmayer has been in the tile industry for over 30 years, specializing in sheet membranes for waterproofing, crack isolation and sound reduction. His experience varies from technical services to sales management. Most recently, Edelmayer served as the director of contractor services with Noble Company.
“Eric has the expertise to help us from both sales and technical perspectives,” said Carol Hould, director, national sales, Mapei. “His technical knowledge of sheet membranes will be instrumental in helping us expand this category and in positioning our branding strategy as we develop an offering that extends from underground through the roof on construction sites.”
