Vancouver, Wash. — The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announces the withdrawal of the ANSI/IICRC S520: 2008 Standard and Reference Guide as an ANSI Standard.
The S520 Standard and Reference Guide will continue to be available electronically as an IICRC Standard. The S520: 2008 Standard is nearing the five-year mark for the ANSI revision cycle, and the new Consensus Body is currently working to revise and create an updated and streamlined Standard. The revised version of S520 Reference Guide will not be part of the Standard for purposes of ANSI approval. This revised version of the S520 Standard and the accompanying Reference Guide are expected to be published towards the end of 2013. Vancouver, Wash.—In 2009, industry forces came together to work on creating a national carpet installation standard under the auspices of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Shortly thereafter, a similar standard was begun for the inspecting of carpet. Known as S600 Carpet Installation Standard and Reference Guide, and S800 Carpet Inspector Standard and Reference Guide, these two standards are now available for public review and comment. In past years, carpet installation was a trade handed down from employer to employee. VANCOUVER, WASH.—The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) elected its 2012/13 board and executive commit tee during the organization’s recent shareholders meeting here. Darrell Paulson was re-elected chairman and will also serve as chairman of the executive committee. Patrick Winters will continue to serve as IICRC’s president.

Vancouver, Wash. –The Clean Trust, formerly the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), is moving forward with plans for an independent international trade association initially approved at The Clean Trust executive committee and board of directors meetings in 2010. The Clean Trust is currently finalizing the structure of the organization and expects to launch the new association in 2012. The association will provide education, programs, services and products to individuals, companies and supporting organizations involved in the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry.
