Vancouver, Wash.—  To accommodate the launch of its newly redesigned and updated e-newsletter, The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) today announced its e-newsletter title naming contest. IICRC withdraws NSI/IICRC S520: 2008 Standard and Reference Guide

Vancouver, Wash. — The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announces the withdrawal of the ANSI/IICRC S520: 2008 Standard and Reference Guide as an ANSI Standard.

The S520 Standard and Reference Guide will continue to be available electronically as an IICRC Standard. The S520: 2008 Standard is nearing the five-year mark for the ANSI revision cycle, and the new Consensus Body is currently working to revise and create an updated and streamlined Standard. The revised version of S520 Reference Guide will not be part of the Standard for purposes of ANSI approval. Carpet standards available for public review

Will greatly impact business operations

Vancouver, Wash.—In 2009, industry forces came together to work on creating a national carpet installation standard under the auspices of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Shortly thereafter, a similar standard was begun for the inspecting of carpet. Known as S600 Carpet Installation Standard and Reference Guide, and S800 Carpet Inspector Standard and Reference Guide, these two standards are now available for public review and comment. IICRC standards available for public review

Vancouver, Wash. – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification’s (IICRC) BSR-IICRC S600 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Installation and BSR-IICRC S800 Standard and Reference Guide for Inspecting Textile Floor Coverings are now available for public review and comment.

BSR-IICRC S600 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Carpet Installation covers both residential and commercial carpet installations. This industry consensus document gives specific guidance for the proper, recommended procedures for installing various carpet products in different types of installations. March 2012: Industry mourns passing of WFCA CEO Chris Davis

For nearly 18 years, he was more than just the leader of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA), he was a leader of the industry, promoting the professionalism of its people and beauty of its products to every media avenue possible. Along the way, he selflessly gave himself to help those in need. On Feb. 22, D. Christopher Davis unexpectedly passed away from lung cancer, less than three weeks after turning 64. IICRC hosts carpet industry meeting

Vancouver, Wash.– The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) recently led a series of meetings with carpet industry partners including the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), Mohawk Flooring, Shaw Industries, Tandus Flooring and Professional Testing Laboratories (PTL). IICRC board votes to return to original name
