Rosana Chaidez has developed a strong reputation as vice president of sales & marketing and procurement for Haines, the largest floor covering distributor serving the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Hard work and dedication brought her to the top ranks, making her an inspiration to all women who are aiming to hold their ground in a male-dominated industry.
Joining the industry in 1986 with distributor FlorStar Sales in Chicago, Chaidez was charged with internal operations, including customer service, supply chain functions and information technology. In 2002 she joined Haines as chief information officer, and she has continued to ascend the corporate ladder. She was eventually appointed to oversee the supply chain, and then in 2008 became general manager of the Wheeler division in Florida shortly after its acquisition by Haines. Glen Burnie, Md. – Haines, the industry’s No. 1 flooring distributor in sales, announced the acquisition of CMH Space, the No. 4 distributor. Bruce Zwicker, Haines president and CEO said, “The two companies will be better together, better for customers, suppliers, and employees.”
Haines, the largest floor covering distributor in the U.S., operates in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. CMH Space operates in the same geographic area. As the industry nears the end of the third quarter, the resilient market continues to boom with developments in both sheet and luxury vinyl tile, commonly known as LVT. With many acknowledging this to be the year of LVT, the resilient category as a whole grew leaps and bounds over the last nine months. Alexandria, Va.—With a record crowd of approximately 400 people from across the Eastern seaboard, the 2013 Haines Loyalty Club (HLC) Summit was held here April 8 and 9 for the first time after outgrowing its previous venues in Baltimore. The group now boasts 275 members, up from 268 in 2012 and a total increase of approximately 160% since 2006.
Scott Roy, Haines’ vice president of sales, marketing and customer service, introduced the 2013 Summit motto “One Block at a Time,” explaining to members that each individual “block” helps build success. Thanks to the October meeting of the HLC advisory council, the Haines network decided changes needed to be made to help provide the greatest benefits to members, drive business to their stores and deliver valuable resources to facilitate dealers’ success. Haines, the nation’s largest floor covering distributor, announced on Jan. 3, 2013 the acquisition of Allied Products of Baltimore, Md., effective January 1, 2013. Allied is a 72-year old distributor of flooring related supplies and sundries with eleven locations throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. Allied operates in those four states plus DC and Delaware and areas of New Jersey and West Virginia. Allied employs forty four people and has sales revenue in excess of ten million dollars.
