Gerflor USA adds new patterns to Taralay Impression

image004Chicago—Gerflor is helping bring design dreams to life with a renewal of its resilient printed sheet flooring collection, Taralay Impression. With a totally revamped wood collection, including seven new whimsical patterns, designers can realize their visions in any commercial interior space.

“We did a complete refresh of the collection to make it relevant for today’s designers, while adding a touch of fantasy we don’t usually see in this resilient sheet flooring category,” said Catherine del Vecchio, senior director of marketing for Gerflor USA. “For example, the printed herringbone/fishbone visual modernizes traditional wood looks and can be used on its own or as a statement area in a space.”

Inspired by the hues used in contemporary fixtures, the new patterns inject hints of chic metal finishes: copper, champagne and rose gold. For more understated, yet still stylish, appearances, the fresh designs feature printed and modernized wood visuals with new plank dimensions and realistic embosses with a super matte effect. From ombré to herringbone to looks that mimic concrete, designers have a range of options with playful takes on nature and texture while meeting strict durability standards.

Taralay is a 6-foot by 6-inch commercial grade heterogeneous sheet flooring with a 28mil wear layer. It is available in compact and comfort backing to provide sound management properties as well as comfort underfoot. The upgraded Protecsol 2 surface treatment provides a no-wax surface, chemical and stain resistance, and super matte no glare effect, making the wood look even more realistic.

Taralay is 100% REACH compliant with a third-party certified product-specific Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) available.

Gerflor USA supports market growth with promotions

GerflorChicago—Gerflor USA is widening its reach in the U.S. market and advancing its team to support—and help drive—its growth. The manufacturer of homogeneous sheet flooring and resilient sports flooring recently named vital members of its sales and marketing force to new positions, including Gerflor national sales director, senior director of marketing and marketing communications director.

Jim Bistolas, who joined the company in 2015 as national healthcare segment director, has accepted a new role as national sales director. With more than 20 years of experience in commercial interiors, Bistolas has developed and managed national sales teams, budgets and forecasts. In his new position, he will lead the national sales force for Gerflor’s multi-segment commercial strategy and will also continue to lead the company’s healthcare market strategy.

For more than seven years, Catherine Del Vecchio has led Gerflor’s U.S. marketing efforts. Now as the USA senior director of marketing for the Gerflor, Connor Sports and Connor Sport Court brands, she will be identifying opportunities and implementing strategies to elevate the brands’ unique market differentiators. She is currently recruiting new staff to support the growth of the department who, under her leadership, will work collaboratively to grow market share for all three Gerflor brands within the US market.

Also integral to the marketing team, Stephanie Corrigan has been promoted to USA marketing communications director for Gerflor, Connor Sports and Connor Sport Court. She will manage the brands’ marketing communications programs and identities. Gerflor united three brands in one place

Screen Shot 2017-05-01 at 2.13.02 PMChicago—Gerflor USA, Sport Court and Connor Sports came together recently at its first-ever combined sales meeting since joining forces under the Gerflor umbrella in 2014. The meeting was held with the goal of energizing and empowering the company’s all-star sales force to share best practices, cementing their commitment to customer service and success.

“With our recent transition to operating together, face-to-face engagement is invaluable,” said Benjamin Bachman, Gerflor USA’s chief sales and marketing officer. “This meeting gave us an opportunity to strengthen our connections, learn from one another and enhance our collaboration, coordination and communication. And those are wins that not only benefit our organization, but also our customers.”

At the core of all three brands is a history of innovation. Connor Sports, Official Court Supplier of the NCAA Final Four, and Sport Court, the original modular sport tile, complement the segment-specific solutions of Gerflor’s product offering, including Mipolam, the original homogenous sheet flooring, and Taraflex, the original resilient sports flooring. Together, they further strengthen Gerflor’s overall reach and recognition within the U.S. market.

Though each brand serves different markets, they share the same mission: to better assist customers. To do so, Gerflor is streamlining processes across the brands in multiple areas, including finance, operations, human resources, information technology and marketing.

“Our goal is to create a strong core and empower our employees through a culture of sharing best practices,” added Bachman. “Working together more strategically, our three brands offer every customer a wider range of products to fit all needs.”

The meeting was only the beginning of Gerflor’s approach of bringing all brands together. Gerflor USA is in the process of identifying career opportunities to further support its market growth.

Gerflor USA releases product-specific EPDs

Screen Shot 2017-03-15 at 10.10.05 AMChicago—LEED v4 is here, and it’s changing how architects and designers consider and specify products. Specifically, environmental product declarations (EPDs) need a more critical eye than ever before. Gerflor USA, known for its high quality, high performing resilient commercial flooring, is making it easier with product-specific EPDs.

While most manufacturers continue to use industry EPDs, Gerflor is one of the first in commercial flooring to release product-specific EPDs for all of its product ranges, including: Mipolam, Taraflex, Taralay and Creation LVT. Product-specific EPDs will allow architects and designers to more quickly and efficiently earn a LEED v4 credit in the Materials & Resources category.

“Gerflor USA is committed to taking action to meet the most challenging requirements in terms of design, durability, easy installation, acoustics, comfort and of course, sustainability,” said Catherine del Vecchio, director of marketing for Gerflor USA. “We took quick and decisive action to develop and publish an EPD for each of our product ranges, as product-specific EPDs provide more specific and detailed information about the product’s lifecycle.”
