Carpet revived with new yarn systems

By Louis Iannaco

Volume 26/Number 20; February 18/25, 2013

In the first few years of the millennium, when the economy was robust, the consumer seeking new flooring would often spend her discretionary income on hardwood, ceramic tile and laminate. After all, hard surfaces offered style, texture and pizzazz.

Melvin Silvers, president of Dream Weaver, told FCNews during an exclusive interview there are a number of things that make PureSoft different than anything else on the market today. The first and possibly most important reason is it is solution dyed. “This allows us to create unique colorations—combinations that cannot be achieved by piece dying as we’re barber poling it. This carpet has the appearance of a solid but it really isn’t.” Continue reading Engineered Floors brings soft to solution-dyed polyester
