Lexington, Ky.—Florida Tile has named Doug Hayes vice president of sales. In this position Hayes will lead all the independent, branch and commercial sales divisions for both the Florida Tile and Cotto d’Este USA brands.
Hayes previously served as Florida Tile’s director of business development and commercial sales. His tenure at the company spans nine years and includes a 2015 induction into the Ceramic Tile Distributor Association’s Hall of Fame. He currently serves on the CTDA board of directors.
“I am honored and excited to lead this team,” Hayes said. “As we work to develop our long-term growth strategy and improve on the success that Florida Tile has already achieved, my first priority will be to place customer care at the forefront of all decisions we make. The investments we have made this past year in our manufacturing center, distribution center and SAP implantation have placed us in a great position to grow exponentially.”
Lexington, Ky.—Doug Hayes, director of commercial and business development for Florida Tile, has been inducted into the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA) Hall of Fame. Announcement of his induction was made at the 2015 Total Solutions Plus Convention held in October.
Michael Franceschelli, CEO, Florida Tile, said, “On behalf of our company, I congratulate Doug on this honor. However, I am most pleased for Doug, knowing the commitment he has made here and to the wider industry through his involvement with CTDA. This is well deserved.”
The honor is given each year to recognize outstanding CTDA leaders, “those people who did and are doing more than just belong to the association,” according to the group. Criteria include being or having been a CTDA member, participating in CTDA events, active involvement in the CTDA and demonstrated leadership within the industry that reflects the CTDA mission statement.
By entering the industry in 1982, Hayes became a third-generation veteran of the tile business. He has been involved with the CTDA for more than 20 years, prior to and during his association with Florida Tile, serving on the organization’s marketing and convention committees and now his fourth term as a member of its board of directors.
