Domotex on pace for successful 2016 show

Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 10.41.09 AMHannover, Germany—Domotex 2016, being held Jan. 16-19 at the Hannover Exhibition Center, is showing signs of a successful turnout. With four months to go, the show is expected to feature about 1,400 exhibitors from more than 60 countries.

“The response from the market has been extremely positive,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, managing board member, Deutsche Messe. “About 85 percent of the show’s exhibitors will be from outside Germany. They are taking part in Domotex 2016 in order to tap into new export markets.” After Germany, the largest exhibiting nations in terms of leased space are Turkey, India, Belgium, China, the Netherlands and Iran.

Innovations@Domotex 2016 issues call for exhibitors

Hannover, Germany—The Innovations@Domotex 2016 showcase is accepting exhibitor applications. Innovations@Domotex is a major attraction at Domotex Germany, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for carpet and floor coverings, to be held Jan. 16-19 at the Hannover Exhibition Center.

Exhibitors will have until Nov. 3 to submit innovations in the following product categories: textile floor coverings/fibers and yarns, resilient floor coverings, parquet, wood and laminate flooring, modern handmade carpets and application and installation technology.

Entries must be submitted online.

Domotex on target for successful 2016

Around 1,400 exhibitors from 60 different countries will be attending Domotex 2016 to showcase products and new collections. The Wood Flooring Summit, a flagship dialogue hub and marketplace for the parquet and laminate flooring industry, is entering its third season and will run alongside the Innovations@DOMOTEX showcase in Hall 9. Organizers are expecting a lineup of around 200 exhibitors from the parquet and laminate flooring industry, plus over 180 providers of application and installation technology.

“Domotex 2016 will be a strong international and innovative event,” said Jochen Köckler, member of the managing board at Deutsche Messe, organizer of Domotex. “All indicators reveal a very favorable trend.”

Innovations4Flooring passes non-infringement examination confirming U.S. market rights

Willemstad, Curaçao—Innovations4Flooring, a new technology company providing flooring installation solutions, announced earlier this month that it has successfully passed a non-infringement examination for the U.S. The examination, which was carried out over the last five months, was issued by an independent group of IP attorneys.

“This in-depth, non-infringement analysis is a significant milestone as it is an independent confirmation that our innovations are completely free from existing systems in the U.S.,” said John Rietveldt, CEO, Innovations4Flooring. “This outcome means our licensees can rest assured that we have the freedom and right to market our flooring solutions in the U.S.”

Innovations4Flooring will share the main points of the non-infringement analysis at Domotex, taking place Jan. 17­20 in Hannover, Germany. During the event, the company will host a series of dee- dive sessions with key industry players to discuss the future of the flooring industry’s patent landscape. Additionally, Innovations4Flooring will hold an exclusive press conference for leaders and legal representatives of flooring manufacturers, as well as members of the press (by invitation only).

Carpet Design Awards 2015 finalists announced

More than 250 designer pieces from 23 countries were submitted for the coveted award, and 25 have made it through to the finals. The finalists will be showcased at the upcoming DOMOTEX show to be held Jan. 17-20. The winner from each category will be formally announced Sunday, Jan. 18 at 4.30 p.m. in Hall 17.

Under the chairmanship of the renowned British designer Michael Sodeau, the international jury has selected carpets in each of eight categories which promise to deliver an exciting mix of visionary design and traditional craft skills. The judges have assessed the entries for design and design concept, materials, execution, texture and quality as well as sustainability and branding.

“We have seen many examples of outstanding design work—including the best that the market currently has to offer. It’s all about the creative awareness that the designer brings to the carpet-making process. His years of experience in making products or carpets by hand and his extensive knowledge of these matters feed into the production process, and the result is a high-value, high-quality artifact”, says Sodeau.

Domotex Carpet Design Award program opens

Domotex logo - newHannover, Germany—The competition for the next Carpet Design Awards, which will be presented at Domotex 2014, is now open.

 Makers of handmade rugs and carpets can submit their entries for the 2014 competition until Nov. 5. The award will be presented January 12.

Välinge strengthens presence in China

Shanghai, China — The Välinge team is establishing a strong presence in China thanks to the addition of a business development manager, with experience in the global flooring industry, specifically the Chinese market. A new technical support engineer has also been added, responsible for providing prompt and efficient technical support and quality assurance to Välinge licensees.

With these additions, the Shanghai team now has three experienced Chinese-speaking staff members actively supporting Välinge’s current and potential Chinese licensees. Välinge’s staff and representatives from the Valinge Shanghai Rep. Office (VSRO), as well as the Swedish office, will be present at Domotex asia/ChinaFloor, March 26 to 28 in Shanghai.

Domotex lends to a solid start for 2013

Hannover, Germany — “Domotex has once again delivered proof of its great international appeal and its pivotal role as the flooring industry’s flagship fair,” remarked Dr. Jochen Köckler, member of the Deutsche Messe AG Managing Board, at the close of the event. “40,000 visitors from over 80 nations came to discover the latest product innovations and trends for the upcoming season.” This constitutes a slight rise in attendance over 2011 as the most recent comparable staging of the event. BELATED WISHES: Floor Covering News would like to extend a belated Happy 50th Anniversary to internationally renowned textile designer Elke Arora, who began her professional career in October 1962 with German carpet manufacturer Besmer. Since FCNews’ inception, Arora’s husband, Rolf, has been our foreign correspondent in Europe, and Elke herself has contributed many color and fashion trend stories. Arora, who is German born, was one of the first to understand fashion is global. She has maintained a residence in Dalton since 1969, a year after opening her own studio in Canada.
