Hannover, Germany—Domotex 2016, slated for Jan. 16-19 here, is expected to be successful, with 80% of the space already booked. Around 1,400 exhibitors from 60 different countries will be attending Domotex 2016 to showcase products and new collections. The Wood Flooring Summit, a flagship dialogue hub and marketplace for the parquet and laminate flooring industry, is entering its third season and will run alongside the Innovations@DOMOTEX showcase in Hall 9. Organizers are expecting a lineup of around 200 exhibitors from the parquet and laminate flooring industry, plus over 180 providers of application and installation technology.
“Domotex 2016 will be a strong international and innovative event,” said Jochen Köckler, member of the managing board at Deutsche Messe, organizer of Domotex. “All indicators reveal a very favorable trend.”
Hannover, Germany—Domotex 2015 attracted more than 40,000 visitors from 100 different countries. Total attendance was slightly higher than the most recent comparable Domotex in 2013. The event took place Jan. 17-20 here and was staged in a total of 12 halls where 1,323 exhibitors from 63 different countries were on hand to demonstrate their creativity and skill. More than 85% of these exhibitors came from abroad.
“We are delighted with the show’s performance,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler, managing board member. “It had a highly attractive lineup of exhibitors and products, solid attendance figures, high-caliber trade visitors, a great many innovations and a highly international mix of exhibitors and visitors. This is something which was immediately evident at every stand and in every hall. This year’s Domotex got international trading off to a splendid start and has given the carpets and floor coverings industry every reason to be optimistic about the year ahead.”
Domotex 2016 will be held Jan. 16-19.
Hannover, Germany—At Domotex 2015, being held Jan. 17-20 here, visitors are literally going to be floored by fresh flooring designs. As one of the leading trade shows for carpets and floor coverings, Domotex will reveal the underlying magic of appealing interiors by showcasing the best in woven, knotted and tufted carpets, parquet and laminate flooring, resilient and textile floor coverings, flooring installation systems and everything in between.
Major attractions at the show include modern hand-made carpets, classic Oriental carpets and fitted carpets. Some statement carpets to look forward to are “Frozen,” a textile commentary on global warming by Austria’s Beate van Harten and “Canvas,” an anti-war protest made of recycled army tents.
In the parquet and laminate flooring segment, attendees can expect to see lots of oak in natural, stained and aged finishes as well as specialty oaks such as the Lithuanian bog oak offered by UAB Grigo Studija. Thanks to advanced manufacturing techniques in resilient flooring, the move towards making installation easier for floor-laying professionals and DIYers has become increasingly popular. Beaulieu’s luxury vinyl tiles, which are designed to allow two carpet layers to work in parallel, are an excellent example of this.
The installation technology section of Domotex is dedicated to bringing maximum ease of use and simplicity to the hands-on, behind-the-scenes aspects of floor covering. For example, Astech has developed a screwless system for fixing timber and wood-plastic composite decking boards in outdoor areas. Once installed, the boards can be taken up again with the aid of a small metal key.
