Custom Building Products returns to Fox's "Home Free"

This time around, instead of competing for themselves, contestants will compete to win their personal hero a dream home. In addition, former NFL player, Heisman Trophy winner and sports analyst Tim Tebow will take the game to a new level, co-hosting alongside famed professional contractor Mike Holmes who also returns for season two.

Each week, Holmes and Tebow will challenge and motivate the contestants to build a new home, testing their skill levels, will and strategy. The contestants who work the hardest for their heroes move forward while the contestant who doesn’t perform up to code will face elimination. Custom Building Products introduces ‘speed system’ to cut shower installation time

Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 2.16.46 PMHuntington Beach, Calif.—Custom Building Products, a leading provider of flooring preparation products and tile and stone installation systems, is making shower installations faster and easier with unlimited size and shape flexibility through the introduction of SpeedSlope and RedGard SpeedCoat. The combination of these high-performance, fast-track products extend the highly-successful RedGard brand and create a “Speed System” that allows installers to float a mud bed, waterproof, flood test and set tile in hours rather than days even in challenging cold or high humidity environments. The products will be available in late Q2, 2016.

The first component is SpeedSlope Rapid Setting Sloping Mortar, a polymer-modified, pre-blended cement-based product ideal for creating a sloped mortar bed on a shower floor in preparation for tile installation. SpeedSlope offers effective working time and sets quickly to allow tiling within one to two hours. This innovative formula delivers an exceptionally smooth finish, very low shrinkage and excellent bond strength. It can also be used for additional sloping applications such as ramps or transitions between subfloors with different elevations.

Complementing Speed Slope is RedGard SpeedCoat Rapid Curing Waterproofing Membrane.  It provides installers with a ready-to-use, liquid-applied waterproofing barrier that cures quickly, consistently and effectively in extreme conditions.  The advanced formula cures through exposure to ambient moisture, so it excels in cold and damp conditions that can present a challenge. One coat is required for walls and two coats are required for floors to waterproof with this IAPMO-listed shower pan liner. Complete waterproofing can be achieved in two hours.  RedGard SpeedCoat bonds aggressively to metal, PVC, stainless steel and ABS drain assemblies.

Custom Building Products names new vice presidents

Shandler joined Custom more than 20 years ago and has since fostered significant growth in the construction and retail sales channels across Canada.

Flowers has held numerous positions during his 18-year tenure at Custom, most recently as the national manager for consumer accounts. In his new role, Flowers will continue to oversee national sales and service for the company’s co-op retail partners as well as take on its construction channel sales leadership across the Southern U.S., Caribbean and Central America.
