DNG is an annual global tile mosaic design competition created by Artaic and sponsored by Bostik. It invites forward-thinking architects, designers and mosaic design enthusiasts to submit “beyond the threshold of imagination” designs for a larger-than-life mosaic Selfie Studio mural to be permanently installed at the Hyde Bellagio. Those who enter will qualify to win various prizes, including the grand prize, an all expenses-paid trip for two to Paris, France.
All designs submitted must be created using Artaic’s mosaic design software, and Artaic’s newly updated and expanded ⅜” vitreous glass tile materials. The winning mosaic will be fabricated in Boston USA using Artaic’s robotic manufacturing technology, and Bostik’s Dimension RapidCure Glass-Filled Grout.
DNG participation is free and open to applicants from all design backgrounds. All applicants must register and all submissions must be received no later than March 24. The grand prize winner will be unveiled at an exclusive, VIP event sponsored by Bostik at Hyde Bellagio on May 4.

Wauwatosa, Wis.—Bostik, and Artaic Innovative Mosaic co-hosted an interactive workshop for key members of Boston’s A&D community at the Prudential Plaza Microsoft Store in Boston’s Back Bay on Oct. 6th.
Twenty top architects and designers attended the workshop to learn about creating mosaic murals using the new Microsoft Surface Pro 4. After being introduced to/being updated on Artaic’s robotic production process, which is driven by the firm’s patented Tessera software, and also learning about Bostik’s Dimension Rapidcure glass-filled grout, each of the attendees were asked to create their vision of a mosaic mural apropos for a Microsoft Store using a Surface Pro 4 pre-downloaded with Tessera software. They were also asked to specify complementary Dimension grout for their respective designs.
“To sweeten the pie and get our guests really ‘into it,’ we held a small competition,” said Scott Banda, Bostik’s director of marketing and business development. “Each designer’s creation was to be judged not only by the Artaic/Bostik team, but also by each of the enthusiastic attendees. The winner would receive a brand new Microsoft Surface Pro 4 courtesy of Bostik.”
Samantha Clarke, senior associate at MDS/Miller Dyer Spears, Boston-based architecture, planning and interior design firm, was the winner, coming up with a whimsical mosaic mural rendition of a 1970’s Bill Gates photo.
Wauwatosa, Wis.—On Oct. 6, 2016, Bostik and Artaic will co-host an event at Boston’s Prudential Center Microsoft store. Attendees of the Microsoft store event will be able to participate in a state-of-the-art, hands-on mosaic workshop using Artaic’s Tessera software.
Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to get involved/learn about how best to install glass mosaics using Bostik’s Dimension Grout. After the Microsoft store festivities, there will be a networking function at the nearby Mandarin Oriental Boston Hotel, where attendees can learn even more from representatives from both companies.
“Together with Artaic, we plan to showcase cutting-edge ways to specify and then install mosaics,” stated Scott Banda, Bostik’s director of marketing and business development. “And, to do so in very upbeat, unique and technologically-advanced venues. In particular, architects, designers and others interested in what’s happening tomorrow in the tile industry, will want to attend this event.”
