Armstrong Flooring wins multiple ADEX awards

ADEX stands for Awards for Design Excellence and is among the largest and most prestigious awards program for product and project design in the Architecture and Design industry. Conducted each year by Design Journal, the annual competition draws approximately 2,852 entries from 500 companies.

The 2017 award-winning products are:

Woodland Relics. This collection includes a varied sampling of multiple species, widths, colors and textures, all of which are mixed together in random fashion to create a highly custom look. In every box, there is a unique combination of Birch, Hickory and Oak species, varied width (3”, 5” and 7-1/2”), long length (up to 7’) planks and beautiful surface treatments including wire brushed, scraped, straight and circular saw marks and tool mark texture, to create a truly one-of-a-kind floor.

PRYZM. As a first-of-its-kind waterproof luxury flooring product, PRYZM challenges the boundaries of the hard surface flooring category, marrying award-winning designs and unparalleled performance with new technology to create a clear winner. Beautiful design, dent- and wear-resistance, waterproof technology and quick installation are the hallmarks of this flagship product.

Residential Vinyl Sheet with Diamond 10 Technology. Armstrong Flooring has reinvented Vinyl Sheet flooring—with incredible realism, authentic textures, vivid color and now, the infusion of its patent pending Diamond10 technology which offers superior scratch and stain performance so floors look newer, longer.

Alterna Engineered Stone. Alterna Reserve is reimagined with two new design collections: Grain Directions, reminiscent of a luxurious mountain retreat, its dynamic color palate elegantly blends with warm rustic sensibilities to express bold, impactful style. Historic District features the vintage feel of weathered wood, infused with captivating texture. All wood designs work together so they can be mixed and matched. Natural Creations with Diamond 10 Technology. Raskin captures four platinum ADEX awards

The company received three platinum awards for products from its domestically produced FloorNation LVT line— Glory, Pride and Freedom—and one for the R9 LVT collection geared toward commercial applications.
“These awards validate the hard work and detail we put into our designs,” said Michael Raskin, president and CEO. “They have come at the perfect time by giving us momentum as we officially launch FloorNation this spring.”
Selected by a panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design industry, ADEX recognizes the best product and project designs of the year in the A&D industry.

Metroflor’s Engage Genesis and Konecto win ADEX Gold awards

Tarkett receives 2016 ADEX Platinum and Silver awards

Tarkett was also the recipient of the Silver ADEX for its iQ Granit and iQ Granit Micro homogeneous sheet and tile flooring. Mannington Commercial nets 8 ADEX awards

The ADEX Awards for Design Excellence include five Platinum awards: one Gold and two Silver, across a range of product categories from carpet to LVT, rubber to resilient sheet, custom programs to environmentally friendly backing. This year, more than 2,800 products were submitted from over 500 different companies.

Winning Platinum for Mannington were:

  • Bouclé – a texture reinterpreted in broadloom and modular carpet, in a modern range of colors.
  • Redefined – Fashion patterns inspired by houndstooth, tweed, hexagons and more— a texturally rich 18 X 36 carpet tile.
  • rEvolve – a PVC-free, vinyl alternative, high performance modular carpet backing system constructed of thermoplastic polyolefin.
  • Realities – heterogeneous sheet flooring inspired by wood looks, yet engineered for healthcare, education, retail, and government installations.
  • Custom Cutting – the Amtico Collection from Mannington makes it possible to install any design imaginable, drawing from the broadest portfolio of aesthetics in the industry.

The Gold winner was Colorfields – Thermoset rubber that brings spa-like attention to detail with color, durability, and comfort underfoot.

Silver winners were:

  • Connected – modular carpet that uses changes in texture and color to cue functionality and attitude in open, adaptive floor plans.
  • Design Woods – inspired by natural woods and brings bold, weighty grains and upscale aesthetics to LVT.

Metroflor wins three ADEX awards

20201 Metroflor Savanna PlankNorwalk, Conn. — Metroflor Corp. received three 2014 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) for its LVT flooring. Savanna Plank from Metroflor’s branded Dry-Back collection took Platinum, while Engage Essentials Tile and Savanna Tile Dry-Back received Gold Awards.

Savanna Planks’ Platinum-winning realistic Oak looks range from deep browns through gray tones in the 6” x 48” format. Hand-scraped embossing delivers a rustic, yet sophisticated appearance that simulates the unique distressed look of hand-finished wood flooring–a tactile effect that can be seen and felt.  Micro-beveled edges add a sense of definition and a rich, finished look.

On the Adex Gold front, Savanna Tiles won for realistic looks in a 12” x 24” format in six styles, ranging from deep gray, black and terra cotta tones to taupe and sand looks.

Engage Essentials Tile, a Metroflor best seller, also took Gold with its rich travertine visuals in the increasingly popular 12” x 24” format.

Metroflor brands have won 10 awards in the last three years—five Platinum, three Gold and two Silver. Previous winners include four awards for Engage Clic LVT. Aspire, Commonwealth Commercial, and Savanna Plank and Tile were also acknowledged for design excellence.

Centiva receives ADEX awards for Made in the USA products

Florence, Ala. — Centiva now has three new Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) to add to its repertoire. All three of these products are from the Contour Series, which is made in the USA.

The ADEX Platinum Award has been given to Avignon Oak – Whisper. This light oak plank design was created to mimic the beauty of natural wood with more pattern and more planks. Metroflor wins two ADEX awards
