ArdexDalton, Ga.—The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) partnered with Ardex, the leading solution and service provider of innovative building systems. Ardex said it is showing its support for the industry and stepping up to support training initiatives spearheaded by FCEF.

Most recently, Ardex provided materials and trainers to assist with the technical college pilot program at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, according to the company.

“Ardex has really stepped up to provide the supplies and resources we need to make our technical college program a success,” said Jim Aaron, executive director, FCEF. “Beyond the monetary value of their support, Ardex has been a true partner, sharing ideas and insight as well.”

FCEF made significant headway with the development of technical school programs, receiving accreditation for their basic flooring installation program. According to the company, this milestone will allow them to easily bring the program to other technical colleges.

“We’re excited to see an organization dedicated to tackling the shortage of installers we’ve been dealing with for many years,” said Seth Pevarnik, director of technical services, Ardex. “We are proud to be able to support FCEF with the supplies and training resources they need to get programs up and running.”

Ardex is a family-owned company and takes pride in its quality products as well as its commitment to building a better future by reducing its carbon footprint and maximizing sustainability, according to the company.

“Our support of FCEF is another way that we’re committed to the sustainability of our industry,” Pevarnik said.

While FCEF said it has made some big strides in reducing the shortage of installers, there is still a long way to go to make up for a persistent shortage.

“We need all the support we can get,” said Kaye Whitener, director of operations, FCEF. “After financial support, tools and materials are our biggest need. We need to make sure trainees can learn with quality tools and products. We have a long list of supplies and tools needed for each program and are so thankful that Ardex has taken many supplies off the purchase list.”
