DSM’s UVolve was the answer at Illinois health care center

HomeNewsDSM’s UVolve was the answer at Illinois health care center

The facility managers at a suburban Chicago health care center recently faced a not-so-unique problem: keeping their high-traffic floors clean and shining without spending a lot of time and money or disrupting operations. Their unique answer: UVolve Instant Floor Guard from DSM.

UVolve Instant Floor Guard is a highly protective single-coat system applied directly to vinyl composite tiles. It cures instantly via UV light units to seal and protect the tiles so floors are ready for traffic immediately after application. Facilities can lower their floor maintenance costs over time because UVolve eliminates the need for frequent stripping, rewax/polishing, and buffing. It does so with none of the offensive odors or volatile organic compound emissions and hazardous air pollutants found with solvent-based coatings or chemical stripping materials.

“The floors of this center were continually being burnished, stripped and re-coated to maintain their glossy appearance, a system that caused great inconvenience to the residents and staff,” said Jim Reitz, business director for DSM’s Floor Coatings Group. “Our UVolve Instant Floor Guard met the staff’s desires to reduce disruptions and maintenance costs, and did so without any strong odors or extended drying times.”
