Calhoun, Ga. — Total home accessory solutions brand Surya is pleased to announce that U.S. company president, Satya Tiwari, was recently named to the 2012 Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 list. The publication’s 40 Under 40 honors the accomplishments of Atlanta’s most successful young professionals. Honorees must demonstrate leadership, professional achievement and community service. This year more than 500 nominations were received for the award and a committee of 40 Under 40 alumni selected the winners.

Since joining Surya, his father’s company, in 2004, Tiwari has grown the business twenty-fourfold and made the brand a recognized leader in the rug and home accessories industry.  The company has achieved double-digit growth in seven of the last eight years and today works with more than 60% of the top 200 furniture retailers in the U.S.  Surya is also deeply dedicated to community stewardship. Today the brand is partnering with nonprofits East Meets West and the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which provide food and other resources to impoverished youth at schools across Vietnam and India.

“I am thrilled to be a recipient of this year’s 40 Under 40 award and to find myself in the company of so many other successful young professionals here in the Atlanta area,” says Tiwari about the recent recognition. Surya Tiwari, Satya’s father and company founder, also remarked, “Satya has been instrumental in setting the vision for Surya’s growth and I am proud to see his efforts being recognized.”

Tiwari and all other 40 Under 40 recipients were recognized at an awards dinner held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Atlanta History Center. Nearly 400 attendees gathered to honor these outstanding leaders.
