How do I remove candle wax from my carpet?

HomeBlogHow do I remove candle wax from my carpet?

Recently, there was a substantial spill of hot, pink, cherry blossom-scented wax on my carpet, totaling around four liquid ounces. Thanks to the suggestion of Patti Harman at the Restoration Industry Association, the wax is completely gone. I followed her directions:

Take an iron set to a low/synthetic setting and put either a white cloth or a piece of brown paper—I used a brown grocery bag—and run the iron over it, being careful not to melt the fibers. Keep the iron moving constantly so as not to burn anything. That should make the wax adhere to the paper or cloth and take it out of your carpet. You’ll see the wax absorb into the paper, and it will look like oil. Added bonus: it smelled like cherry blossoms again in the room.
