Marietta, Ga. — Great design is derived from the perfect blend of talented designers and the industry’s most innovative design tools, which work to bring a designer’s vision to life. Only Durkan consistently delivers this unique balance, showing once again why it is the hospitality market’s most trusted brand. Durkan has outdone itself once again delivering a wide selection of newly designed and intricately patterned Computer Yarn Placement (CYP) carpet collections. These advanced new offerings are certain to infuse any hospitality space with both comfort and sophistication that will not disappoint.

“Hospitality customers depend on Durkan to create perfectly patterned designs at affordable price points,” explained Lee Blair, SVP, global head of hospitality, Mohawk Industries. “That’s the beauty of our CYP tufting technology and the chief reason we continue to invest in and broaden the Durkan CYP product portfolio.

One of Durkan’s most anticipated new CYP collections is Moana. Designed by gifted Durkan designer Amy Jaekel, this lively and spirited collection is inspired by tapa patterning and contemporary tropical florals like bougainvillea, giving it a South Pacific feel. Loosely styled-like Tongan stenciled designs also give the offering a casual, yet comfortable appeal that will work well in almost any hospitality setting.

Also new for 2012, elements from two successful Durkan collections rooted in nature are brought together for one reinvigorated and bold offering. The organic beauty of leafy shapes from Etched, and the softness of willow catkins from Wispy Willow are now uniquely blended for Durkan’s new Etched Willow collection. Etched Willow captures a textural look in CYP with its cut and loop constructions, appealing to both hospitality designers and end users.

Durkan is also bringing one of its most popular print collections to CYP for 2012. Satori, designed by celebrity designer and frequent Durkan collaborator Tracy Lee Stum, is now available in nine CYP patterns. Satori’s interconnected motifs depict its Eastern influence and offer hospitality customers an opportunity to achieve the sudden enlightenment that is the true meaning of Satori.

All of Durkan’s CYP offerings utilize the company’s unique Colorstrand solution dyed nylon fiber technology, delivering both lasting beauty and value. The collections contribute to LEED certification and are 100 percent recyclable through Mohawk’s ReCover program.
