board membersDalton—Certified Flooring Installers (CFI) welcomed new board members to its advisory board. Don Styka, director of field services, Tarkett, was elected as new board chair for CFI during its the December advisory board meeting. Styka, who has been a CFI advisory board member since 2018 succeeds Dave Garden. Rod Von Busch was elected vice chair and Roland Thompson was elected as secretary. Von Busch will also serve as CFI’s representative to the WFCA board of directors.

“Don, Rod and Roland bring passion, wisdom and commitment to their work with CFI,” said Steve Abernathy, chief operating officer, WFCA. “Their dedication to the association, commitment to the industry and perspective they bring from different sectors of the business is invaluable and we are grateful to have them serve on our board. Their leadership will further CFI’s mission as we elevate, train and promote professional installation.”

Outgoing board chair, Garden, is now the executive director of education for CFI. He is joined by other board members:

  • Bob Gillespie, Bob’s Carpet Installation Services
  • Andrew Smith, Engineered Floors

  • D Clark, L Fishman

Members of CFI’s advisory board serve a three-year term and participate in monthly meetings that help shape association programs, policies and initiatives.
