Chattanooga, Tenn.Xpress Global Systems (XGS), a leader in the nationwide transportation of floor coverings, appointed Dan Martin as the new chief executive officer. Martin will assume the role in late April.

Martin brings a wealth of expertise to the position, holding senior leadership roles in the packaging, supply chain and logistics industries for more than two decades. His capabilities include extensive knowledge in supply-chain operations, commercial sales, national and global business development, sales and operations planning and digital strategies. Martin’s skill set and leadership will complement and guide a dedicated XGS team and build on recent successes already achieved, including upgrading the fleet, warehouses, technology capabilities, expanded nationwide network and strategic customer growth, the company said.

In his most recent role as president of IFCO North America, Martin successfully co-led the demerger from Brambles to PE, improved business performance and secured significant commercial contracts for the company. Prior to his work at IFCO, he served as senior vice president of sales and customer operations at CHEP USA, where he helped launch a new set of customer supply-chain solutions and achieved significant growth.

Martin spent the first 12 years of his career at Ryder Logistics, where he held roles in operations, sales, customer service and general management. Martin received a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Maine.
