Dominic Rice, a 24-year flooring industry veteran, has joined the Floor Covering Institute as its new president, according to institute founder Jim Gould.
Rice spent his career in leadership roles at Armstrong Flooring, most recently as its chief product officer and senior vice president of global operations. Starting with Armstrong in Australia, his experience has spanned Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. He also served as a director and chairman of the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI).
“I am thrilled to have someone of Dominic’s broad experience take over the reins of the Institute,” said Gould. “His expertise includes products, industry supply chains, customers and channels of distribution.”
The Floor Covering Institute’s mission is to help industry companies solve problems, improve their competitiveness and identify new business opportunities, the company said. Established in 2007, the Institute has become a leading, independent voice for the flooring industry offering guidance and research papers on major topics such as the Lacey Act, developing business in China and the LVT market.
Associate members specialize in statistics, software, claims, social media, the luxury market, channels to market and products in every floor covering category. Members are international, located in North America, Great Britain and Europe. The Institute is unique in providing a single point of access for clients to tap into a global network of floor covering industry experts. Clients include investment analysts, manufacturers, distributors, buying groups, product associations and governmental agencies.
Current members are Mitch Dancik, Jim Gould, Stuart Hirschhorn, Lew Migliore, Donoto Pompo, Chris Ramey, Dominic Rice, Ruud Steenvoorden and Christine Wittemore.
