HomeNewsMohawk Industries takes home 2019 American Business Awards

Calhoun, Ga.—Mohawk Industries recently received three 2019 American Business Awards for initiatives that embrace and put into action the company’s dedication to its specialty retail partners and its ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Also known as the Stevie Awards, the American Business Awards is the premier business awards program in the U.S. It was created in 2002 to honor achievement in every facet of the workplace. Mohawk was recognized in the following areas:

Gold Stevie winner in Business-to-Business Services: Mohawk Edge
Mohawk Edge offers a strategy for retailers to stand out and stay ahead of the changing retail environment. Through three tiers of partnership, Premier, Select and Preferred, Edge makes it easier for shoppers to choose specialty retail. Partners receive reserved access to the industry’s most recognized brands, Pergo and Karastan, and turnkey marketing programs such as Omnify and Edge Local Advertising; upgraded rewards to accelerate sales; priority placement on Mohawk digital channels to drive consumer demand to their stores; and premium service with priority shipping and concierge service and support.

“We are extremely excited that Edge is being recognized,” said Seth Arnold, vice president of residential marketing. “Edge is a groundbreaking partnership that empowers retailers to build a more seamless experience for the shopper and positions them for ongoing success in today’s competitive marketplace. We consider it a game changer.”

Silver Stevie winner in Communications or PR Campaign of the Year—Corporate Responsibility: Mohawk Industries 2017 Sustainability Report
Mohawk Industries released its 2017 Sustainability Report with a strategic communication campaign that not only gave the report a tremendous launch but kept it “alive” throughout the year. The report illustrated the power of handprints over footprints and detailed how a commitment to sustainability by the world’s largest flooring company is shaping business decisions that positively impact the company, its customers, its employees and communities.

“Each year, Mohawk’s sustainability efforts grow stronger and impact more people around the world,” said George Bandy Jr., chief sustainability officer. “This wide-reaching and exciting PR campaign consistently and repeatedly delivered the Mohawk message: that it can grow its global business while reducing its environmental footprint and that, because Mohawk believes in better, it pursues innovation not only in its products but also in its communications. We are honored by this Stevie Award, which acknowledges our work in keeping positive hand printing on the minds of our employees and our customers.”

Bronze Stevie winner in Video—Corporate Social Responsibility: Mohawk Group leaves positive handprints through community-centered solar energy initiative
This video describes Mohawk’s partnership with nonprofit Groundswell to bring the benefits of clean solar energy to communities of concern and to schools with STEM programs—through the installation of 10 SmartFlower solar technology systems across the country. It shows how communities and companies can work together to achieve sustainability and create positive handprints.

Nominations for the Stevie Awards were judged by more than 200 professionals worldwide during a two-month process. Winners will be honored at the 17th Annual American Business Awards banquet on June 11, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
