Export, Pa.—The 2018 spring collection from Karndean Designflooring introduces fresh, on-trend colors across its Knight Tile and Opus gluedown ranges and Korlok Reserve rigid core, expanding the company’s portfolio of high-quality Karndean Designfloors to suit both residential and Main Street applications.

To develop new designs, the Karndean Designflooring product team travels the world in search of desired wood and stone species that may not make a practical floor in their natural form, such as the fast wear of pine and walnut. After hand-selecting pieces of these materials, the team creates designs that highlight natural details in a variety of colorways—some true to the natural hues, some in more contemporary variations, but all in a waterproof, durable luxury vinyl.

With a palette ranging from light washed grays to smoky browns and indigo blacks, the newest Knight Tile and Opus gluedown designs feature original wood and stone visuals, including American black walnuts, European oaks and pines, Australian spotted gums, slates and a hybrid abstract that can act as a wood, a stone with a woven overlay or a stained concrete. Frame these visuals with the company’s design strips to recreate the look of porcelain tile in a durable luxury vinyl or use design borders to create a custom floor.

The new Knight Tile designs are available in 36 x 6-inch planks and 12 x 18-inch stones in a 12mil wear layer; and the new Opus designs are available in 36 x 6-inch planks and 18 x 24-inch stones in a 20mil wear layer.

An extension of the award-winning Korlok Select range, Korlok Reserve is the manufacturer’s new rigid core collection. From the classic, yet rustic design of vintage Oregon oak sourced from the Pacific Northwest, to the sleek, matte grays of tavern oiled oak, this collection of woods is an eclectic mix of rustic, limed, aged and oiled visuals.

Korlok Reserve is available in 48 x 7-inch planks with a patented 2G locking mechanism and 20mil wear layer. Like Korlok Select, Korlok Reserve features proprietary K-Core technology, providing a waterproof rigid core for installation over most existing hard floors and uneven subfloors. A pre-attached foam backing reduces noise transfer, is mold and mildew resistant, does not pool water and makes Korlok Reserve quieter to walk on than other hard floors.

These introductions are all waterproof, kid and pet friendly and come with a lifetime residential warranty. Planks and tiles are finished with the K-Guard+ surface protection to provide a hygienic and durable finish. Unlike aluminum oxide coatings, K-Guard+ will not turn white when scratched or leave stress marks when handled.
