Chicago—A jury of five professionals has selected three finalists for the chance to win a new sports floor for its school or community center. For the past two months, Gerflor USA gathered nominations from the public for schools and community centers across the country to win a new Taraflex gym floor through its Play Safe on Taraflex program.
The three finalists—Anderson Middle School in Anderson, Calif., Summit Elementary in Ashland, Ky., and the Fairfield YMCA in Fairfield, Conn.—were selected from more than 50 submissions.
To determine the winner, a public voting period is open through Nov. 23. The nominees were evaluated based on financial need, condition of the current playing surface and facility and the nomination statement. To vote for one of the finalists, visit Gerflor USA’s Facebook page.
Because of its safety and performance benefits, Taraflex is a leader in indoor sports flooring for U.S. schools, installed in over 70,000 gymnasiums worldwide. The winning school or community center will receive the same Taraflex floor featured at the London Games, or an equivalent Taraflex Sport M Plus floor.
