Floor Covering News announces the appointment of Lindsay Baillie as its new assistant editor. In this capacity, she will be primarily responsible for writing news stories and feature articles, attending trade shows and industry events, proofreading and copyediting, as well as posting updates to the FCNews website. Additionally, Baillie will contribute to the newspaper’s social media marketing efforts.

Baillie graduated with a Master of Arts degree in English and American Literature from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, N.Y. Her professional experience includes a stint as copyeditor for Epifania, a lifestyle publication based in San Francisco. Baillie also served as a writer and copyeditor for The Campanil, a Mills College newspaper. She also worked as an English tutor at St. Joseph’s College and served as a research assistant during her time at Mills College.

“Lindsay brings a high level of competence and proven writing/copyediting skills to our newspaper,” said Reginald Tucker, managing editor, FCNews. “She has demonstrated a sharp command of fundamental journalistic principles, and she is already making a positive impact on our operations. I predict Lindsay will get up to speed on the floor covering industry in a short period of time.”

Baillie is excited about the opportunity. “I look forward to jumping into the floor covering industry and using my strengths as a copyeditor and writer to bring new perspective to FCNews. I am also ecstatic about joining a team filled with professional, creative and passionate individuals who put their all into creating quality articles for their readers.”
