As the company’s second consecutive win, Kroger recycled over 1.6M pounds of material. Its commitment to zero net waste extends to all of its stores including Fred Meyer, Dillons, Ralphs, QFC, Fry’s, Food 4 Less, King Soopers and Smiths.

The award recognizes organizations that have made significant environmental contributions by recycling resilient flooring materials during demolition projects, resulting in a reduction in landfill materials, transportation and energy.

“Kroger’s commitment to environmental sustainability is demonstrated by [its] efforts to reclaim vinyl composition tile (VCT) from multiple stores throughout the United States,” said Amy Costello, sustainability manager, Armstrong.
