Commack, N.Y.—CBC Flooring’s commitment to providing PVC-free commercial flooring and transparency in product formulations through Health Product Declarations (HPD) has garnered a lot of attention from the A&D community.
“HPDs are in that beginning stage where VOCs were 10 years ago,” said Kimberly Ann Lombardozzi, sustainability manager, CBC Flooring. “Many A&D firms have highlighted us in their product libraries because they’re looking for PVC-free options without harmful halogens, flame retardants, phthalates and chlorine. They’re wowed by our chemistry.”
HPDs, a standard format for reporting product content and associated health information, are a critical addition to the LEED v4 standard which takes effect October 2016. Leading A&D firms have already shifted gears as part of an overall approach to incorporate maximum sustainability into their creative work.
CBC Flooring has HPDs for six of its collections published on its website (CBCFlooring.com) and on GreenWizard.com, an online tool for specifiers seeking products with HPDs.
