Manchester, N.H. — CCA Global Partners announced the recipients of two $5,000 scholarships through the Alan Greenberg Scholarship Fund.
This year’s recipients were selected by a committee including Greenberg family members as well as CCA Global board members and executives. “This scholarship is extremely special to us,” said Howard Brodsky, co-CEO of CCA Global Partners. “Alan and I both had our own companies before we founded CCA Global Partners. Entrepreneurship was in his blood. He would be honored to know that we are supporting young entrepreneurs in his name.
The first recipient, Tori Catalfo, is the granddaughter of Vickie Wissman, who serves as CCA Global Partners’ vice president of travel and conventions.
Catalfo is the first woman in her family to go to college. She is currently a sophomore at the University of North Carolina–Greensboro majoring in business administration with a double minor in information system technology and community therapeutic recreation. She helps fellow business students as a Peer Academic Leader (PAL). She is highly motivated and plans to graduate in only three years.
The second recipient is Sawyer Smith, son of David Smith, vice president of Skaff Furniture Carpet One Floor & Home in Flint, Mich.
Sawyer is already well on his way to a successful entrepreneurial career with his very own small painting business. An economics student at Wayne State University in Detroit, Sawyer has a passion for setting his own course and is already dreaming of other business endeavors.
The awards were officially presented at a stockholders meeting by Alan Greenberg’s son, Tod, who is currently the vice president of technology at CCA Global Partners.
“I was very impressed with this year’s candidates,” Tod Greenberg said. “There are so many young entrepreneurs in our CCA Global family. I’m excited to see what their futures hold.”
The Alan Greenberg Scholarship Fund will continue to award scholarships each year to budding entrepreneurs in hopes of keeping the entrepreneurial spirit of CCA Global co-Founder Alan Greenberg alive. The Fund was established in 2007 to assist employees of Carpet One Floor & Home stores as well as CCA Global employees and their family members who would like to pursue an entrepreneurial career.
