Lancaster, Pa.—During Armstrong’s recent second quarter conference call, Matt Espe announced that the company will build a new $40 million luxury vinyl tile plant to service the North American market. No site has been selected but construction will begin later this year.

According to a statement from Armstrong, “This is a fast growing product category because of its visual appeal, high performance and ease of installation and maintenance. We have not selected a manufacturing site yet; we’re evaluating several alternatives. We’ll make a final site selection as soon as we can complete discussions with various state and labor representatives.”

This new plant will reduce imports from China by 70%.
