Hicksville, N.Y.—RFMS, a leading flooring software company, is continuing to facilitate and streamline the business processes of the flooring industry by offering a complete suite of software modules needed to successfully manage a flooring business.

“There are certain things that are critical for flooring dealers or contractors with regard to managing a business or project,” said Terry Wheat, president. “RFMS is designed so those critical components are required to be addressed.”

Beginning with the initial bid, RFMS handles each point in the process and manages it through a logical, step-by-step fashion. “We enable the process or project management to be performed in the least amount of time with the least amount of effort,” Wheat explained.

One of the focuses for 2013 is the release of mobile applications for Android and Apple devices. “Information can be exchanged with the main office from anywhere the Internet is available,” Wheat said. “A salesperson can now use a mobile device to access our Showroom Management Module, which provides all product and inventory details and captures the information the customer is interested in.”

Wheat said the Showroom Management Module supports the Sample Management Module. “All relevant information can be captured on a mobile device, including customer details and email addresses, which is updated on the data server.”

In June, RFMS will release an InHome Sales Solution Module that will allow a salesperson, using a mobile device, to capture a job’s diagram or measurements; vendor products from the store’s catalog; produce an estimate or order that can be approved by the consumer on site; capture a signature, post a payment and then submit the order back to the business data server.

Another June launch will include the Installation Time Management Module. “This will allow an installer to use his phone to document the time he starts a job, takes a break, tracks lunch periods and the time he finishes a job,” Wheat explained. The data is stored on the main server so both wage and hour requirements can be documented while tracking progress.

There are three basic areas that can dramatically improve a flooring dealer’s business when RFMS software is utilized, Wheat said. “First, we provide efficiencies that will allow a flooring business to grow with existing personnel.” Second, RFMS gives the retailer processes to improve inventory or material management. “This is an area in which our industry has notoriously seen significant shrinkage.” And third, he ex-plained, RFMS provides tools to ensure there are no installation cost increases on projects.

The company carries out these benefits by offering a complete suite of modules required to manage a flooring business. They include:

•Product catalog management system. This system is completely integrated with automatic fcB2B functions and built-in showroom pricing.

•Take off/estimating. This includes tile count, trim requirements, installation cost, installation material requirements, and a 3-D rendering of the product.

•Bid and quote module. All bids and quotes are tracked so a dealer is aware of potential business as well as potential profit.

•Progress billing for commercial/large jobs.

•Scheduling. This module integrates with the order process so data is never entered twice.

•Installation management. Control is maintained on a bid or quoted installation cost.

•Inventory control.

•Accounting. All accounting data is maintained, yet most information is produced in an integrated fashion via other modules.

•HR module. This manages payroll for all 50 states, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

•Client management. This contains a complete CRM, lead management and project management ability.

•E-commerce. This module trades and manages all electronic data.

•New home management system. Manages the pricing, bidding and selection of all products associated with new construction.

•Family housing module.

•Contract pricing module.

•Referral pricing/selling.

•Document attachment capability. This facilitates the attachment of any document or image to any record.
