St. Louis, Missouri The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) announced its 2013 Community Service Award recipients during its Wood Flooring Expo in Dallas.  The awards were announced during a luncheon that took place on Thurs., April 4.  NWFA Community Service Awards are presented to companies that perform volunteer work for charitable organizations.

This past year, 19 NWFA member companies found the time, the means, and the compassion to give to others. These companies participated in a variety of projects. Several donated time and materials to the installation of wood floors for Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, a homeless shelter, a children’s museum, and homes for children in need as well as the refinishing of historic homes and churches. Companies also participated in fundraising and volunteer efforts for Hurricane Sandy relief and for organizations such as the American Red Cross, Wounded Wear, and Touching Lives Worldwide.
