Bainbridge Island, Wash. Teragren, the nation’s leading manufacturer of fine bamboo flooring, panels, veneer and worktops, today introduced a new product line – Vantage: A new generation in bamboo flooring. The only engineered strand bamboo flooring FSC-certified through and through, Vantage was designed by the US-based company to include Teragren’s superior environmental pedigree.

The Vantage platform features a 3mm FSC-certified Xcora strand bamboo wear layer over an 11mm, 7-layer FSC and CARB II certified eucalyptus plywood core for maximum stability. Using seven layers of eucalyptus as a substrate creates an exceptionally stable product which is also very light, resulting in a floor that combines both the value of superior product engineering and the benefit of the look and durability of Teragren’s Xcora strand bamboo.

“Vantage is our response to direct market demand,” said Teragren president Mike Boshart. “We have been hearing for a while from our dealer base that they wanted a high-style, engineered strand bamboo flooring that would have superior performance in almost any installation, with special focus on commercial applications and regions with a wide seasonal swing in climate. We waited to bring something to market until we were sure it would perform. We are satisfied that Vantage, with its 7-layer core and wear layer that is 160% harder than oak, meets all of our stringent qualifications for quality and performance.”

Vantage is certified to CA specification 01350 by Berkeley Analytical, the strictest air quality standard in the world,  qualifies for the Collaborative for High Performance Schools Low Emitting Materials credit and for multiple LEED credits.

Additionally, Teragren has introduced a tongue and groove profile onto its four top-selling Portfolio Colors as well as its four Portfolio Naturals products. The Portfolio Collection features a wide-plank made from solid Xcora strand bamboo. The addition of a tongue and groove option to the collection extends installation options from the original drop-lock profile and increases the line’s versatility, specifically with regards to commercial and residential installations with flooring expanses greater than 50 feet.

In a move designed to combine a price-focused product with premium long-length boards, Teragren has also announced this month the addition of Synergy One to their long-standing Synergy Collection. Synergy One features four popular colors in Teragren’s best selling solid-strip profile.

Taken together, the new product launch and line expansions by Teragren are a solid indication of the growing strength of bamboo flooring as a go-to alternative to hardwoods for both design and lifestyle choices. All products are currently available throughout the United States and Canada.
