Feldman, Aaronson join FCNews ownership

Hicksville, N.Y.—Floor Covering News publisher Steven Feldman and associate publisher Dustin Aaronson have purchased an equity position in Roel Productions, parent company of Floor Covering News and Green Operations magazine. Feldman and Aaronson join Mike Blick, who will remain president and CEO, in the ownership of the company.

“Steve and Dustin have helped build this business over the past seven years by working hard and smart,” Blick said. “They deserve a chance to carry forward their visions in the years that follow my retirement.”

Feldman, who has 19 years editorial experience in the floor covering industry, joined FCNews in January 2006 as executive editor, later promoted to editorial director. He took on the additional role as publisher following the death of FCNews founder Al Wahnon in 2011.

Aaronson was hired by FCNews in August 2005 as national sales manager. He was promoted to associate publisher in 2011.

Both men were reflective and appreciative upon signing the agreement. “First and foremost, I want to thank Mike for giving us this opportunity as well as his support throughout these seven years,” Feldman said. “He has made the investments that have allowed us to grow substantially in a less-than-favorable economic climate.

“I think we have come a long way, both as a business and as an integral part of the floor covering industry.”

Feldman said this purchase allows FCNews to continue in its role of providing a conduit for manufacturers to seamlessly reach retailers, and for retailers to receive the information they need to run their businesses successfully and profitably. “In the coming years we will look to provide even greater value to the industry. Aaronson said he is proud to be a part of the FCNews ownership. “Mike has been very good to us. We have a great team at FCNews, and all of us look forward to continuing the FCNews mission, which is to help educate all in the industry, work closely with our industry partners to get their messages out and to see these retailers out of this challenging economy, by giving them the help, advice and tools necessary to grow their businesses.”
