WILL ALSO COINCIDE WITH LAS VEGAS MARKET IN 2013, 2014

DALLAS — Hanley Wood and the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) have partnered to create a hardwood flooring pavilion at Surfaces 2013, Jan. 29 to 31. Hanley Wood, which owns Surfaces, has also formed a strategic partnership with the Las Vegas Market to co-locate their events in 2013 and 2014 to provide an enhanced sourcing, educational and networking experience.

The NWFA Pavilion will host several wood suppliers and a networking lounge where members and prospective members can connect and browse products.

“We have worked together for several years developing ideas on how to bring value to the show,” said Amie Gilmore, Surfaces’ associate director. “This pavilion is a huge step in solidifying that partnership by creating an added layer of value to our exhibitors and attendees.”

The NWFA Pavilion is located in a high-traffic area in close proximity to the S2 Theater. Exhibitors who utilize the NWFA Pavilion will receive, as part of their booth package, a customizable turnkey display with a brochure holder. They will also have the chance to use the S2 Theater to demonstrate the installation of their products.

“By providing a reduced cost to exhibit, a centralized place to network and education through a demo stage, our exhibitors and members receive additional value by attending Surfaces,” said NWFA president and CEO Michael Martin. “In addition, NWFA can expand the aware- ness of wood throughout the industry with a larger presence that can’t be missed on the show floor.”

Companies interested in exhibiting in the NWFA Pavilion can call 972.536.6356 or e-mail kcree@hanleywood.com.

Two for the price of one

The Las Vegas Market, slated for Jan. 28 to Feb. 1 at the World Market Center Las Vegas campus, is an international home furnishings showcase. Retailers and designers can shop product offerings from furniture to gifts. The event features 1,000 manufacturers and resources as well as educational, networking and hospitality events all week.

“We look forward to this strategic partnership and the benefits it brings to our attendees,” said Dana Teague, group director, Surfaces. “Our dates coincided in 2011 and it proved to be an enormous success for both events. Due to scheduling conflicts in 2012, our dates were a week apart and we were met with disappointment from
attendees. Both parties agreed it was in
the best interest of
our events to hold our dates concurrently and give our customers a convenient, one-stop shopping opportunity, saving them time and money.

In addition, the coinciding dates will give thousands of buyers the opportunity to engage in a wider range of education and networking events. Registration benefits will be available for those who wish to participate in both events and a complimentary shuttle service will be provided between each venue.

“The synergy of our co-location adds value to both our customer bases—allowing manufacturers exposure to new distribution channels,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift + Home Decor for International Market Centers. “And for
retailers and designers looking for new
and unique resources, Surfaces offers great depth in the floor coverings space while the Las Vegas Market delivers a tremendous breadth of new products in furnishings, home décor and giftware. We’ve worked to make access to both events convenient and easy for buyers.”

As part of ongoing efforts to attract interior designers, Surfaces has expanded the Designer Day program to two days, Jan. 29 and 30. They will be filled with innovative products, tours and
education, Teague said. “This two-day educational event is a must-attend for interior designers looking to get the latest trends and the newest products available for their clients.”
