HomeNews"Green" pressure-sensitive flooring adhesive: VersaStick

Suitable for use on subfloors and against floor being laid

Norfolk Neb.—MP Global Products, a manufacturer of fiber acoustic underlayments, introduces VersaStick premium “green” pressure sensitive flooring adhesive for luxury vinyl tile/plank and multi-ply engineered plank hardwood flooring over approved substrates.

An environmentally friendly no-VOC, solvent free clear set adhesive formulated to be fast drying, VersaStick is extremely versatile. A “universal” adhesive, it enables contractors and builders to limit SKUs needed for multiple types of flooring installation. It spreads easily and has high initial tack and superior shear strength. Flooring may be installed up to 16 hours after initial drying if the area remains dust and dirt free.

Other features and benefits of VersaStick include:

  • nonflammable
  • freeze-thaw stable
  • water-resistant
  • cleans up easily when wet
  • very low odor
  • made in the USA
  • will not harden in container after opened and exposed to atmosphere

Recommended for use under VersaWalk for glue-down applications, VersaStick is ideal for both wet-lay and dry pressure sensitive installations over porous surfaces.

To use wet, apply adhesive with the recommended trowel and allow to flash off for 5 to 10 minutes before installing flooring.

To use as a pressure sensitive adhesive, allow the adhesive to dry to a tacky state and then install flooring according to manufacturer’s instructions within three hours.

For non-porous surfaces, apply adhesive with recommended trowel and allow to completely dry. Then lay the flooring within three hours.

VersaStick is acceptable for use with on, above, or below grade concrete substrate applications in absence of excessive moisture and alkalinity. (Below grade application only if flooring is recommended for below-grade installations by the flooring manufacturer.) VersaStick can also be used over plywood, particle board, hardboard, OSB, terrazzo, existing vinyl tile flooring, and existing fully adhered non-cushioned sheet vinyl, and properly prepared lightweight concrete.

VersaStick is available in 1 and 4 gallon plastic pails.
