MARIETTA, Ga. – One of the biggest names in hospitality design is bringing her in-depth knowledge of color forecasting and design trends to The Mohawk Group’s hospitality brand. Durkan is pleased to announce it has established a long-term relationship with designer Stacy Garcia, who will use her signature style and pattern design skills to create multiple new Durkan print and CYP carpet collections.

“We are so excited to have Stacy join Durkan’s prestigious team of collaborators,” said Barbara Marcy, director of creative design for Durkan. “Stacy knows the hospitality industry inside and out, and her signature designs set a standard other hospitality designers strive to achieve. We cannot wait for the world to see Durkan through Stacy’s eyes.”

Garcia is the founder and CEO of two successful companies, LebaTex, Inc., a fabric converting firm and certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), and Stacy Garcia, Inc., a privately held product design company responsible for producing distinctive collections. Garcia also serves as chair holder for the Color Marketing Group (CMG), offering timely trend reports and insightful color predictions that take the guesswork out of forecasting. She is a trusted resource for designers across the globe seeking expert style guidance and inspiration.

“I’m thrilled to be partnered with Durkan,” said Garcia. “I’ve known the team at Durkan for many years through the industry and I’m very excited to be collaborating with such a creative group. I respect Durkan’s commitment to providing beautiful product and can’t wait to design more art for the floor.”

“This is an exciting time for Durkan,” added Marcy. “Stacy’s influence and design insight will give us an even greater edge as we enter the 2012 trade show season.”

Garcia’s first Durkan collection is slated for release in the spring of 2012.
