Tarkett is set to take over the French market leader Parquets Marty, making Tarkett the leading flooring manufacturer in Europe, with an annual production of over 6 million square meters and four production sites, according to a press release.
In May, Parquets Marty teetered on the brink of collapse. A group of leading employees had freed the company from the Nybron holding and tried to save it with halved staff and active state aid.
Besides Tarkett, a Chinese company that has a number of floor outlets in the Paris area known under the name of Grande Nature lastly was in the race for Parquets Marty.
Parquets Marty will supply the southern European market with single layer parquet, expanding the range of products from Tarkett. The new owner will keep on the 130 existing employees and announced an investment of 13 million Euros at the Cuzorn site.
