West Bloomfield, Mich.—The Flooring Contractors Association, FCICA, announced all attendees at the mid year meeting will now qualify for Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) continuing education credits upon completion of the Education Sessions of Friday, Oct. 7. IICRC will assign one credit for all registrants that complete the four offered educational sessions at the event.

The Educational Sessions will include the following:

  • Demonstration of Stair Tread and Riser Installations, covering the dos and don’ts of resilient stair tread installation, by Brent Fike of FLEXCO/Roppe; Kevin Phillips of nora systems, and Don Johnson of Johnsonite.
  • ASTM Standards— What You Need to Know!,  will addres concrete testing and preparation standards by Christopher Capobianco of Christopher Collaborative.
  • A panel discussion on abatement policies, including chemical and chemical-free type processes by experts from the underlayment, adhesive and commercial flooring manufacturers. Panelists will include Sonny Callaham of Royal Adhesive; John Kozak of Johnsonit, and Bruce Newbrough of Ardex Americas. The panel will be moderated by Gerry Swift of Potomac Floor Covering.
  • Moisture in Concrete, a presentation on the effects that concrete slab moisture conditions have in many of today’s retail spaces, healthcare facilities and commercial resilient flooring projects, by Lee Eliseian, Independent Floor Testing & Inspection Inc. (IFTI).

Registration for the event in Ft. Lauderdale , Fla., from Oct. 5 to 7at the Riverside Hotel, was opened to the public last month. Those interested in registering, may do so at the fcica.com under the ‘Highlights’ section on their main page.
