Bainbridge Island, Wash.—Teragren announced the $500 winners of the company’s photo contest for 2011.

“We were overwhelmed with the entries this year,” said Ann Knight, co-founder and global brand director at Teragren.  “We received entries worldwide and were excited to see so many different applications of our bamboo flooring, panel and worktop products.”

Brent Rogers, a principal at NBBJ Architects in Seattle tied with Juan Lacape, director, Lakp Design & Development of Ciudad de Guatemala. Both received the $500 award.

Rogers’ home features custom kitchen cabinetry made with Teragren 4 x 8 x ¾ cross-ply traditional bamboo panels combined with stainless and translucent glass to complete the look.

“I chose a very limited palette of stainless, translucent glass and Teragren furniture-grade bamboo panels with the beautiful exposed edge detail,” he said of his design.

“Teragren’s Studio wide-plank bamboo flooring and 4 x 8 x ¾ cross-ply panels were the best product for the application and the highest-quality product available with environmentally-friendly attributes,” said Lacape.
