Dalton—Shaw Floors announced its participation in the 2nd annual HGTV Urban Oasis, a modern, custom-built residence located on the 35th floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.

The 1000-square-foot space is designed by HGTV’s popular interior designer, Vern Yip. He said he will decorate the residence by combining antiques and architectural artifacts with contemporary elements that reflect Chicago’s essence. Yip earned a master’s degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and he runs his own design firm in Atlanta.

“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with HGTV and Trump International on this exciting project,” said Kathy Young, director of marketing for Shaw Floors. “We’ve enjoyed four years of sponsorship as the exclusive flooring provider of the HGTV Green Home, and we’re delighted to feature the new HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw products in the setting of high design from the premier Trump brand. It helps consumers visualize Shaw in their homes when they experience the beauty of our flooring in inspirational settings like this on such a powerhouse network.”

The residence will be completely furnished and includes one bedroom, 1½ baths, a gourmet kitchen, and breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline. Flooring from the new HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw program will be featured throughout the space, including hardwood, tile, and cut-and-bound  rugs. Among the HGTV Home Flooring by Shaw products that will be used are Campbell, a Shaw 5-inch engineered hardwood plank floor in the living room; Mixed Up mosaic slate in a backsplash in the kitchen and on the walls of the powder room; Domus floor tile in the master bathroom, and several cut-and-bound rugs made from carpet styles manufactured by the Tuftex Carpets of California division of Shaw.

The residence will also be the grand prize of the HGTV Urban Oasis Giveaway, in which viewers can enter daily online at HGTV.com or HGTV’s FrontDoor.com for a chance to win starting August 18 at 9 am EST. The winner will be announced in December.
