MADISON, WIS.—Jaeckle Distributors has sold its hardware products division to Amerhart, a wholesale building materials distribution company headquartered in Green Bay, Wis. Amerhart’s purchase of Jaeckle’s hardware division includes over 11,000 product SKUs from manufacturers such as Grass America, Accuride and Rev-a-Shelf.

“We’ve weathered this recession well, and with this sale we’re poised to grow,” said Jeff Jaeckle, president. “Hardware was just 10% of our business, but a significant portion of our order processing time. Now, we can focus entirely on flooring and surfacing and aggressively grow these divisions.”

Jaeckle’s business and growth strategy align with surfacing and flooring industry market trends, which show market growth concentrated in residential remodeling and replacement for the next several years. Homeowners, who are remodeling or replacing existing floors and countertops, are seeking variety, quality and luxury products at value-oriented prices. “As one of the largest flooring and surfacing distributors in the Midwest, we already offer a great variety of products in a range of prices,” Jaeckle said. “And, we’ll expand and invest in our current product lines as well as introduce new ones, such as granite countertops by Natural Stone Systems and proprietary lines, like our very competitive Trends in Stone program and Trillium collection of wood grain-enhanced bamboo.”
