CHICAGO—The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) will present the inaugural NAFCD & NBMDA Distributor Marketplace from Nov. 16 to 18 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

This new and improved event for distributors and manufacturers within the floor covering, specialty building material and woodworking distribution channels combines the best of both association legacy events to provide distributors with more thoughtful sessions on the trends shaping our industry, larger audiences and new opportunities to meaningfully connect with other industry leaders, noted Michelle Miller, NAFCD’s executive vice president.

“The result is more information and more contacts that attendees can translate into more business,” she noted.

Co-locating with NBMDA provides the opportunity and venue to network and discuss challenges and solutions with the greater distributor community, Miller said. “Co-locating also enables NAFCD and NBMDA to present a higher caliber of speakers, who will help attendees navigate through the remainder of 2010.”

Kevin Gammonley, executive vice president, NBMDA, said this was an opportune time to join forces given how the economy and housing market is beginning to recover from its downturn. “Bringing the industries together within one event provides our attendees a unified way to discuss shared challenges and opportunities, which will ensure their competitiveness in the years ahead.”

In addition to the Distributor Marketplace, where leading manufacturers and service providers showcase their products and discuss distribution programs, event highlights include the manufacturer-hosted distributor meetings, where manufacturers will have the opportunity to host private functions with their distributors.

The event’s general sessions will focus on pricing strategies for distributors, managing a rising business cycle and developing a strategic vision for upcoming mega-trends. There will also be roundtable sessions, where distributors will expand their network of peers and learn about best practices and success stories.
