HICKSVILLE, N.Y.—Floor Covering News has expanded its industry leading role in showcasing how to use today’s latest social media tools for business with the launch of its own YouTube channel. Located at youtube.com/fcnewsmag it is also accessible through our recently revamped website, fcnews.net.

Being involved with social media is nothing new for FCNews. We were among the first to take advantage of the Internet—initially for research and news gathering and then with our own website back in 1998.

Floor Covering News has hopped on the social media tsunami sweeping over the world. We not only re-launched the website as the center of our social media universe, but have greatly expanded our presence beyond print, with offerings on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr, along with many of our editors having added accessibility via LinkedIn.

Now, with YouTube, FCNews is delivering the industry’s news and information via the world’s four most widely used social media networking sites. Together, these four have a combined viewership closing in on one billion visitors.

Earlier this year, Floor Covering News set the standard on educating the industry about taking advantage of these tools with its highly praised “Guide to Using Social Media in Business” (Aug. 2/9).

By actively using these media platforms along with our print edition to deliver the industry’s most timely, accurate news and information FCNews is not just talking to our readers about successfully using social media, we are walking the walk. Each medium is linked through our website by selecting the respective logo, allowing visitors easy access. News is not only distributed among the various platforms, many times it is enhanced.

For example, the main story on page one of this issue is about a major government-sponsored conference in Dalton. Videos are posted showing a panel discussion held during the event as well as some of the behind-the-scenes action, such as a mill tour.

See them by visiting our website and hitting the “Videos” tab on top or on the Floor Covering News YouTube channel. Visit our Facebook page (Floor Covering News), follow us on Twitter (FCNewsmag) and check out our pictures on Flickr (Floor Covering News).
